Kosmos is a 2009 Turkish drama film directed by Reha Erdem. The film was co-produced by Turkey, Bulgaria and Germany and won several awards at international film festivals.
The movie depicts the story of a young man, Yussuf, who lives a secluded life in a forest. He travels through different dimensions of time and space to understand the purpose of his existence and the universe around him.
Kosmos has received critical acclaim and has an impressive rating of 7.2/10 on IMDb. The movie was selected as the Turkish entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 83rd Academy Awards but was not nominated.
The lead character Yussuf is played by Sermet Yesil. Other cast members include Türkü Turan, Hakan Altuntas, Sabahattin Yakut and Nihal Koldas. The film's cinematography was done by Florent Herry and the music was composed by Erdem Helvacioglu.
